The CEF holds a variety of annual fundraising initiatives to raise awareness of the foundation’s cause and the bursary program.
In 2015 the CEF achieved great success from its fundraising initiatives. The focus of the 2015 events program was on the inaugural fundraising Gala Dinner, the major fundraising event for the CEF in 2015. All stakeholders including CEF sponsors and donors, Sydney Catholic Schools staff, both office based and in Sydney Catholic school communities, as well as suppliers were greatly supportive of the foundation’s cause. The foundation achieved a significant result from fundraising initiatives in 2015, raising over $61,000 for the bursary fund thanks to our community of generous supporters.
Dr Dan White, Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools gave an inspiring speech and the event showcased an impressive lineup of entertainment, comprising both students and professionals. Mark Vincent, an ex-student of Sydney Catholic Schools and Australia’s number one tenor was the headline act of the evening. The night also showcased exceptional talent by students. David Zheng, a Year 8 student at Casimir Catholic College Marrickville played the violin as guests entered the ballroom and CaSPA students from the Showcase Ensemble Dance group performed with poise and grace. Guests also enjoyed the variety of popular music from Australia’s favourite party band, Jelly Bean Jam who sang and danced the night out!
Sponsors were acknowledged via a trophy presentation and individual photos with Dr Dan White.
The fundraising efforts on the night were an immense success; one thousand raffle tickets were sold on the evening raising $10,000! Many generous donations were also received in lieu of attendance. The event was a wonderful success, highly entertaining for guests and raised an exceptional amount of funds for the bursary fund. The Catholic Education Foundation would like to sincerely thank all those who supported the inaugural event and attended the evening.

In 2014 the Catholic Education Foundation achieved immense success from its fundraising initiatives. Foundation sponsors and donors as well as Sydney Catholic Schools staff and business partners all showed wonderful support for the cause, achieving a strong fundraising result for the foundation bursary fund.
Congratulations to all students who participated in the various stages of the competition. Special congratulations to the three winners; David Zheng Yr 7 student at Casimir Catholic College, Marrickville (Judges Choice Award), Isabelle Hanly Yr 12 student at De La Salle Catholic College, Cronulla (Judges Choice Award), and Michael Benson Yr 12 student at Clancy Catholic College, West Hoxton (People’s Choice Award).
The event helped to raise awareness of the Catholic Education Foundation with proceeds from the sale of each ticket donated to the foundation bursary fund. Thank you to the following school communities who together helped to raise over $7,000!

Talented singer Elizabeth Daher, Yr 12 student at St Ursula’s College Kingsgrove and CaSPA member and CaSPA music advisor, James Long performed a range of Christmas tunes for guests on arrival. Dr Dan White, Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools gave a heartfelt speech on the role and importance of the Catholic Education Foundation and sponsor’s valuable contribution to achieving the foundation’s mission.
The CEF would like to acknowledge Maria Russo, Director and the team from Dancefever Multisport, sponsor of the CEF who generously prepared and donated eight Christmas hampers. The hampers were donated to St Therese Catholic Primary School Sadleir-Miller where there is a significant need to support many families in the local community.
