For the third year the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) is holding the CEF Annual Appeal Day. We invite all Primary and Secondary schools to show their support for the foundation’s valuable cause and participate in the annual fundraiser. By being involved you will help to support families in need in your local community, and give them the opportunity to access a quality Catholic education for their child.

When?

Please save the date in your school’s calendar for week commencing Monday, 4 September 2017 (Week 8, Term 3), on any day which is most suitable for your school. If this week is not suitable, please select your own date, preferably during the week prior or week after.

What’s involved?

Students are invited to participate in a mufti day and wear their favourite outfit (for e.g. football club jersey, super hero, movie star) for a $2 coin. Schools may choose to adopt a theme for the mufti day, e.g. super hero day! Money raised to be donated to the CEF Bursary Fund to support children and their families.

How can our school show our support?

Above is a flyer your school can display and include in your newsletter to promote the fundraiser to students and parents (click on the flyer to open the PDF file in a new window).

The CEF encourages schools to share photos from their fundraising day on social media:

Follow us on FacebookCatholic Education Foundation – Sydney‘ and share with us, post to our page or email photos to foundation@syd.catholic.edu.au

For schools on Twitter, find us ‘Cath Ed Foundation‘ and follow us @CEFSyd. The CEF has created a special hashtag for the event #CEFAAD17 and encourage schools to tweet using this hashtag!

For schools on Instagram, follow us at ‘CEFSYD‘ and post your photos using the hashtag for the event #CEFAAD17

How will our school be acknowledged for their support?

The highest fundraising Primary and Secondary schools will receive a framed certificate (Note the highest fundraising schools will be calculated by the average funds raised against the school’s student enrolment to give a ‘per student’ figure). Runner up schools (2nd and 3rd place) in both Primary and Secondary will also receive a framed certificate. Participating schools will have their school name and funds raised included on the 2017 CEF Annual Appeal Day honorary participation list promoted on the CEF website.

How do I send funds raised to the CEF?

Please use the creditor code CEOCEF or creditor name ‘The Catholic Education Foundation’ to raise an invoice in SAS so that payment can be made directly to the foundation via EFT.

When raising the invoice, please use the invoice number CEFAAD17 and GL Account: 8.8112.97 for both the receipt(s) and invoice.
